Hong Kong 101 for first time travelers

It’s that time of the year when major airlines are posting the most incredible flight promos that would enable just about anyone to travel around the country and even abroad.

And so, because a lot of our friends are going to Hong Kong for the first time this year, we are posting this travel guide for 5 days/4 nights that we use for our own trips to HK. This covers most of the tourist-y places that you have to check out and a few tips on the side to make your stay as smooth-sailing as possible.

December 2015 –  My buddy Jae and I decided to take our moms to Hong Kong as an early Christmas present. It was their first time in the mega city and also our first out of the country trip together so we made sure that everything went without a hitch. We booked our plane tickets via Cebu Pacific as early as June but we took our time in choosing the hotel where we would be staying at. The latter was critical as our itinerary was planned around its location.

The Magical World of Disney

HK Disneyland

The first time that we went to Disneyland, it was August. The heat and humidity in Hong Kong that time of the year was unbearable even at early hours of the morning but we didn’t mind. From the time that we boarded the train with Mickey Mouse-shaped windows and matching handles, we were already in Fantasia and we could hardly contain our excitement.
